Lunchtime Workout
My days are pretty hectic (kids, work) and my nights aren't much better (kids, softball practice, homework, etc.). The only time I have to work out is at lunch. Any suggestions on how I can get to the gym, work out, shower, get back to work, and eat in 1 HOUR OR LESS??!! Richelle St. Louis, MO
Hey Richelle- A lunchtime workout is a great idea - but you'll need to plan ahead. Pack your workout shoes and clothes the night before and put your keys on top of them, so you won't forget. You may also want to carry some deodorant and soap if you tend to get sweaty. Also, if you don't want to wash your hair, get a shower cap. Once you're at the gym, shoot for 30 minutes of cardio and weights. Ask one of the gym staff about circuit training - the idea is to move from one exercise to another without resting. If you can't get to the gym, head outside and walk briskly for 30 minutes. If the weather is bad, go up and down the stairs in your building for a half an hour - that's harder than it sounds, trust me. Also, pack a lunch so you can eat once you get back from your workout. You'll be surprised at how good you feel and much more energy you'll have the rest of the day!Jake If you've got a health or fitness question for me, fire away!
